Regulatory Services is a broad group of services that ensure public and environmental protection, principally via enforcement and education. Although the delivery of services can vary between local authorities, it normally includes Environmental Health and Trading Standards services including consumer credit, product safety, fair trading, consumer advice, food safety, health and safety, licensing, street scene enforcement and pollution control. Waste Management, Private Sector Housing, Building Control and Planning can also fall under this description.
Phase one of the ReGS project is delivering Intelligent Mobile inspection solutions to enable officers involved in a variety of service areas to complete key business processes on the move and update the relevant back office system remotely and in real time. The key processes within ReGS that will achieve maximum efficiency savings, both cashable and non cashable, have been targeted.
The ReGS Intelligent Mobile system is a generic solution that is designed to integrate with a diverse range of existing back office systems. The requirements and design are customer driven and each implementation allows the customer to tailor the solution to their specific needs for each business process.
Lead supplier Kirona have been working in close collaboration with Civica and Northgate for a significant period of time, providing a fully integrated solution for their respective back office systems. Other providers are also catered for via the generic interoperability adapters included in the ReGS package.
