Service Outline
The Private Sector Housing service provides help and support to homeowners, landlords and tenants living in private housing. By providing advice and inspecting properties the service has a key role in ensuring standards of housing in the private rented and owner occupied sectors are maintained. Key functions of the service are to:
Provide advice and information to homeowners, landlords and private sector tenants
Provide assistance to vulnerable homeowners to help them to repair and improve their home
Carry out regeneration schemes
Help disabled people to remain living in their own home
Encourage owners of empty houses to bring their property back into use
Encourage landlords to improve the physical and management standards of privately rented houses
Promote the private rented sector as a tenure of choice
Provide everyone with the opportunity to live in a Decent home
To support officers in these activities, the ReGS Intelligent Mobile solution provides on site solutions to the:

Inspection of premises

Creation of relevant repair maintenance work on site

Recording of ‘work in progress’ notes and the issuing of instruction documents (schedules of additional works) on site

Undertaking of interviews and financial assessments for provision of loans and grants, within the customers home
Phase one includes

Real time premise and service request search and display

Real time search and maintenance of action diary ,assessments and reminders

Real time search and maintenance of housing assistance and housing inspections

Capture digital images and upload them directly into database to be stored with inspection/action

Generate electronic documents including advice letters and financial assessment pre-populated with system data for review and optional signature capture in the field

Creation of schedules of workmanship

Recording of work in progress notes to ensure standards of compliance
